Paola Palacio Perez

Master’s Student

Paola joined the Wulff Lab in 2025 as a master’s student in Plant Science. Her research focuses on the identification of novel resistance genes in wheat against multiple diseases, as part of the ongoing research of the Wheat Resistance Gene Atlas, an initiative aimed at accelerating wheat breeding.
She obtained a BSc with honors in Biological Engineering from the National University of Colombia in 2023, followed by a postgraduate certification in Biotechnology from the same institution in 2025, where she reviewed the application of RNAi as a treatment for phytopathogens. Additionally, Paola has experience in the in vitro culture of various plant species, including regeneration, micropropagation, and polyploid induction. She is now expanding her knowledge in the field of plant molecular biology, with a focus on genetic engineering and bioinformatics.
Outside the laboratory, Paola has a deep love for stories in all their forms: books, series, podcasts, and is always exploring new ones.
