Abdulrahman Alhabsi

Postdoctoral Fellow

Abdulrahman Alhabsi joined the Wulff Lab in 2024 as a Postdoctoral Fellow. As a member of the wheat engineering team, he seeks to generate a One Health and super wheat line using genome engineering technologies. Currently, he works on generating super wheat plants by stacking disease resistance genes into drought tolerant transgenic wheat, to create a disease resistant/drought tolerant super line. Also, he works on improving traits of local wheat varieties via the multiplex CRISPR/Cas9 platform.

Abdulrahman obtained his PhD in Cell & Molecular Biology from KAUST. His previous work focussed on understanding the interplay between pre-mRNA splicing and abiotic stress tolerance in rice.
