Students from The KAUST School visit the Center for Desert Agriculture

The Center for Desert Agriculture hosted a visit of Grade 5 students from The KAUST School. We prepared a series of short activities for the children explaining the role of photosynthesis in plants. Radim Svacina, Renjie Chen, and Karthick Gajendiran from the Wulff Lab, demonstrated to the students what makes plants green by isolating pigments from the plant leaf and separating them by thin-layer chromatography. After visiting the laboratories, the children finished their tour in the greenhouses.
